BEST ROMANCE/DRAMA STORY
First thoughts on The Royals
Title and Summary
“The Royals” title obviously brings me to the thoughts of kings and queens and knights etc. I love the type of medieval or royalty stories so I am overall excited . There isn’t much to get from the title besides that is has to do with royalty. The summary is, “An arranged marriage. Lust. Intrigue. Betrayal. Can these young Royals survive life in the Medieval French Court?” The summary is well put together and gives off a little more. My idea now is that the princess (or another type of royal lady) is arranged to marry a man but she has fallen in love with someone else who she is not about to be betrothed to. The smaller cover art is of the young lady and the large cover is a painting of knights and royal ladies which I think is really pretty. So far the story seems pretty good and I am excited to read it!
The plot is very well thought-out and developed, with detailed back stories to every character. It has a strong foundation, and there seems to be no plot holes. The plot seems to pick up a little further into the story, and the first few episodes seems to be a base for the coming episodes. Even though sometimes the storyline can be on the verge of being interpreted as cliche, the author turned it around with a new plot twist or something to keep the reader hooked!
Story content and flow
The length of each episode is very long, with every piece of the story planned out well. As a result, it makes the story flow well. For some stories, everything happens way too quick for readers to be able to process it. However, in Dripping Mascara's case, the pace is not too quick nor too slow. Even though the beginning of the story was maybe slightly slow, it does pick up further into the story.
The events of the story has been thoughtfully placed out to make the reading experience as good as possible. Almost all of the events in the story has some sort of link to another event, connecting all of the plot twists together.
There aren’t any noticeable errors, not major or small. But the descriptions, mostly used for the flashbacks, are somewhat too long and they could be divided up more.
Impact of the story based on the genre submitted
The story is very emotional, the author manages to show all of the different dimensions of emotions that the characters are feeling. She also manages to create an emotional bond between the characters and the readers. The author tends to bring more depth into each character and this brings more impact to the story. We liked how the story is realistic. In other stories, characters tend to move on very quickly in terms of relationships, but in Dripping Mascara, characters take their time. You can almost see them developing feelings, and evolving, as people. The author has a wide vocabulary and showcases it in the story, the words are beautifully mixed together and describes everything quite well. The story has both romance, drama and fantasy in it and it deals with the loss of loved ones.
We’d definitely recommend this story to anyone wanting to read a high-quality and well-written story. Dripping Mascara mixes together fantasy, drama and romance beautifully, the characters are realistic and it’s easy to see a bit of yourself in almost every character. This story is quite well-known for a good reason, it has an impressive usage of extended vocabulary, has excellent grammar and punctuation. Dripping Mascara is realistic, well-structured and it is a story YOU would not want to miss out on!
